Canadian
Fellowship Programs
Introduction
RMC is often called upon to facilitate short-term
fellowship/educational programs in Canada on behalf of its international
clients, ranging in size from a handful to in excess of 30.
Preferably, initially attended by the Minister of Health and
one or two senior officials followed-up by a larger group representing
the various stakeholders impacted by the health care restructuring
project.
RMC's
premier role in international health care consulting enables
the firm to call upon and to receive full cooperation and
support both from Health Canada (Government of Canada), from
provincial Ministries of Health and from other relevant agencies
(hospital boards, educational institutions, etc.)
Each program
is tailor made to reflect the objectives of the health care
restructuring project and its impact on health policies, legislation,
organization structures, systems and procedures and human
resources.
Canada's
widely recognized success in the delivery of cost-effective
health care, with emphasis on universal coverage, primary
care/family practice environment, and single-payer modus operandi,
provides RMC with a unique opportunity to offer this service
to our Clients.
To give
you an appreciation of the type of fellowship programs potentially
available to our Clients, we are pleased to share with you
agendas of previous programs.
In addition
to this service, the Government of Canada, through its Canadian
International Development Agency (CIDA), is prepared to contribute
up to five (5) percent of the project budget in the form of
training assistance not covered by the project work program.
In closing,
we wish to emphasize that RMC does not charge fees for the
provision of this service, only out-of-pocket expenses. We
hope that we can be of service to you in a similar manner.
